MasterCard International Incorporated (doing business as MasterCard Worldwide) and its affiliates (collectively, "MasterCard") respect your privacy. This MasterCard MarketPlace Privacy Notice describes the types of personal information we collect, how we use the information, with whom we share it, and the choices you can make about our use of the information on the MasterCard MarketPlace website (collectively, the “MasterCard MarketPlace”). We also describe the measures we take to protect the security of the information and how you can contact us about our privacy practices.

Information We Collect
MasterCard may obtain information about you from various sources. If you register with MasterCard MarketPlace, we will have a relationship with you, and you may choose to provide personal information to us in connection with that relationship.
The types of personal information we may obtain are:
- Contact information (such as name, postal or email address, and phone or fax number)
- Username and password
- Payment card information
- Contact information for friends or other people you would like us to contact
- Content you provide (such as photographs, articles and comments)
- Other information (such as shopping behavior and preferences, language preference, age, date of birth, gender and family status)
- Your current location as approximated by the location of your IP address
We collect certain information by automated means, such as cookies and web beacons, when you interact with MasterCard MarketPlace or MasterCard MarketPlace content distributed on third party websites. The information we collect in this manner includes IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, information on actions taken on a website, and dates and times of website visits. A "cookie" is a text file placed on a computer's hard drive by a web server. A "web beacon," also known as an Internet tag, pixel tag or clear GIF, is used to transmit information back to a web server.
If you sign up for the MasterCard MarketPlace Plus Program, Next Jump, Inc., our service provider who sources the merchant offers for us on MasterCard MarketPlace, may collect your name, address, and payment card details in a separate window. Your MasterCard card billing statement will reference an annual fee (currently $29.95) associated with Next Jump as the merchant and not MasterCard. How We Use The Information We Collect
We may use the information we obtain about you to:
- Create and manage your online account and respond to your inquiries
- Provide, administer and communicate with you about products, services and promotions (including contests, sweepstakes, programs and other offers)
- Determine which content may be most relevant to provide to you on the MasterCard MarketPlace and on third party websites on which you may view MasterCard MarketPlace content
- Provide you goods and services you may have requested, including to provide you statement rebates or arrange for in-store retail events
- Operate, evaluate and improve our business (including developing new products and services; managing our communications; determining the effectiveness of our advertising; analyzing our products, services and websites; facilitating the functionality of our websites; and performing accounting, auditing, billing, reconciliation and collection activities)
- Monitor the use of and improve our interactive assets
- Perform data analyses (including anonymization of personal information)
- Enforce our Terms of Use
- Comply with applicable legal requirements and industry standards and our policies
We also may use the information in other ways for which we provide specific notice at the time of collection.
Information We Share
We do not sell or otherwise disclose personal information we collect about you with third parties for those parties’ marketing purposes, except as described herein.
We may share personal information with other third parties with your consent.
We also may share the information with our service providers who perform services on our behalf. We do not authorize these service providers to use or disclose the information except as necessary to perform certain services on our behalf or comply with legal requirements. We require these service providers by contract to appropriately safeguard the privacy and security of personal information they process on our behalf.
To operate the program and provide you statement rebates we may provide your registration information and transaction information, including your card account number (or portions thereof), name, email address, ZIP code, amount, date and location of purchases to the financial institution that issued your MasterCard payment card, as well as the merchants with whom you make purchases.
If you register for an in-store retail event at a merchant whose offers you see or select on MasterCard MarketPlace, we provide your first and last name, your email address and information about whether you will be bringing a guest to the event to the participating merchant for admittance. That merchant may use that information in accordance with their own privacy policies or notices.
Any information that you provide for purposes of reviewing products or services on MasterCard MarketPlace may be republished through other programs offered by our service provider and identified with the username, city and state you provide.
On MasterCard MarketPlace, you may choose to use certain features for which we partner with other entities. These features, which include social networking and geographic location tools, are operated by third parties that are not affiliated with MasterCard. These third parties may use personal information in accordance with their own privacy policies. On sites on which these features are offered, the relevant third parties are identified on the websites. We strongly suggest you review the third parties' privacy policies if you use the relevant features.We also may disclose information about you (i) if we are required to do so by law or legal process, (ii) to law enforcement authorities or other government officials, or (iii) when we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to prevent physical harm or financial loss, or in connection with an investigation of suspected or actual fraudulent or illegal activity.
We also reserve the right to transfer personal information we have about you in the event we sell or transfer all or a portion of our business or assets. Should such a sale or transfer occur, we will use reasonable efforts to direct the transferee to use personal information you have provided to us in a manner that is consistent with our MasterCard MarketPlace Privacy Notice. Following such a sale or transfer, you may contact the entity to which we transferred your personal information with any inquiries concerning the processing of that information.
Your Rights And Choices
You may have certain rights regarding the personal information we maintain about you. We offer you certain choices about what personal information we collect from you, how we use that information, and how we communicate with you.
You may refrain from submitting information directly to us. You can access and modify personal information we may have through the preferences and profile pages on MasterCard MarketPlace.
You may opt-out of certain uses of information we collect about you by automated means when you visit other websites. Specifically, we may use service providers to post content on third party websites. They may use cookies when they serve ads to you. You may direct our service providers not to use cookies to serve ads to you by clicking Cookie Opt-out.
You can at any time tell us not to send you email marketing communications by clicking on the unsubscribe link within the marketing emails you receive from us or by modifying your preferences accordingly. You also may opt-out of receiving marketing emails from MasterCard by clicking Email Opt-out. Please note that if you chose to opt-out of MasterCard’s marketing communications, we will continue to send you service related communications.
If the financial institution that issues your MasterCard payment card provides MasterCard your personal information, you may have certain choices with respect to MasterCard’s use or disclosure of the information. Please contact your financial institution to learn about and amend your choices.
You may withdraw any consent you previously provided to us. We will apply your preferences going forward. In some circumstances, withdrawing your consent to MasterCard’s use or disclosure of your personal information will mean that you cannot take advantage of certain MasterCard products or services. If you decide that you would like to discontinue your participation in MasterCard MarketPlace, click here to contact us and let us know that you no longer wish to participate in the program.

How We Protect Personal Information
We maintain appropriate administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect the personal information you provide against accidental, unlawful or unauthorized destruction, loss, alteration, access, disclosure or use, which information is housed in the United States. We use SSL encryption on a number of our websites from which we transfer certain personal information.

MasterCard MarketPlace provides links to other websites for your convenience and information. These websites may operate independently from MasterCard. Linked sites may have their own privacy notices or policies, which we strongly suggest you review if you visit any linked websites. To the extent any linked websites you visit are not owned or controlled by MasterCard, we are not responsible for the sites' content, any use of the sites, or the privacy practices of the sites.
Updates To Our MasterCard MarketPlace Privacy Notice
This MasterCard MarketPlace Privacy Notice may be updated periodically and without prior notice to you to reflect changes in our personal information practices. We will post a prominent notice on our websites to notify you of any significant changes to our MasterCard MarketPlace Privacy Notice and indicate at the top of the notice when it was most recently updated.
